StarCraft 2 Heart of the Swarm

Review By Daniel Shannon

It has been almost two years since Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty was released. Since then, fans of the Zerg have been waiting for the Heart of the Swarm expansion to tell that race's side of the story. The time has finally come for the Zerg to get their moment to shine--and shine they do. It's unfortunate that poor writing intrudes on the campaign, because the missions themselves are highly entertaining and varied, and online play provides plenty of cutthroat thrills.
While Starcraft II is a great real-time strategy game, it hasn't evolved much in light of other strategy games, though that familiarity is part of its appeal. Many fine touches--the "select whole army" button, the clever dialogue when you click on a unit too many times, the hotkeys for unique power--are appreciated, but not new. HOTS also lacks the contextual dialogue you hear in The Battle for Middle-earth or Relic's more recent games.
And so Heart of the Swarm is a safe expansion, but it's also an excellent one. If you've spent the last two years hankering to run amok with the delightfully diverse Zerg swarm, you're in luck, because you'll have no trouble scratching that itch with the gameplay you know and love. The lackluster story is disappointing, but taking control of the Zerg--those nutty world-devouring insectoid-dinosaur hybrids--makes Heart of the Swarm well worth the investment.

Ok, now, I will take the honor and summarize it for you all.
Starcraft-2 Wings of Liberty fans waited two years for its sequel. When heart of the swarm came out on March 12 2013, they were not only happy but excited, given the thrilling and fantabulous trailers of HoTS. For any previous WoL player, (no spoilers), zerglings controlled by Kerrigan and Raynor being in love with Kerrigan, no matter what comes(even the queen of blades), still seems unexplained. But whatsoever, most of us play for the gameplay. In that part, SC2-HoTS is the best one in that series.

Dialogue Writing= Not so good
Gameplay=Perfect
Story/Plot=Average
Graphics/Animations/Artistic Effects=Great

Don't miss it out. Play this one.

Call of Duty: Ghosts

Like a good sequel should , Call of Duty:Ghosts doesn't ignore the formula of fast,fluid gameplay that has made the series famous, but introduces a unique new premise,unprecedented player personalization,and sweeping changes that breathe new life into the multiplayer experience. It's over-the-top and at time unnecesarily complex,but serves both current and next-generation consoles with ambitious new ideas and tremendous replay value.

Despite sharing a name with one of Modern Warfare’s best-known characters, Ghosts takes place in an entirely new Call of Duty universe set in the not-too-distant future. In a genre overwrought with antiquated Russian conflicts and ambiguous Middle Eastern terrorist threats, Ghosts takes on a refreshingly unique premise in which the threat comes not from the east, but the south: a federation of oil-rich South American nations rises to take over the hemisphere, pushing north and coming to blows with the U.S.

Like previous CoDs, the story of Ghosts struggles to remain in focus amidst the fray of explosive cinematic moments and relentless firefights. Narrated loading sequences with stylized story animations push the campaign forward, but only last for one or two minutes before launching back into the action. It’s there, on the front lines, that much of the plot progression is presented and oftentimes lost.-

Call of Duty: Ghosts isn't a reinvention of the franchise, but proves there's still room for innovation within its existing formula. Though at the risk of overcomplicating things at times, its robust multiplayer gameplay, surprisingly fun co-op modes, and lengthy, challenging, and varied campaign makes Ghosts one of the best Call of Duty games to date.
